- Dorothy Gladstone is a stage exam, which is optional after Grade 5 Jazz. This exam requires the students to perform a Jazz and Lyrical Solo. These exams have a different criteria than regular classroom exams, eg: costuming, staging, make up, stage presence and expression. Students can request to take these exams but it will be up to the discretion of the teacher to make the professional opinion if they decide to send them for this exam. Once the student has attained their Grade 6 Jazz examination, they can not go back and sit their Dorothy Gladstone Exam.
- Modern Jazz Shield is a stage exam, which is optional after Grade 9 Jazz (Old MJ8). This exam requires the students to perform a Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary Solo. These exams have a different criteria than regular classroom exams, eg: costuming, staging, make up, stage presence and expression. Students can request to take these exams but it will be up to the discretion of the teacher to make the professional opinion if they decide to send them for this exam.
- Teacher Training is offered in ComDance Modern Jazz after the completion of either Grade 9 Jazz or Old Grade 8 or Modern Jazz Shield. Once Teachers Certificate is attained, a student can not go back and sit their Modern Jazz Shield Exam.
- Teachers Certificate. Minimum required age is 17. This exam studies the syllabus from Pre Jazz to Grade 5 Jazz (all revised syllabi). It qualifies the candidates to teach the studied grades. The focus is on teaching skills, set work knowledge, theory of anatomy and music. It is an oral and physical examination which is set by each individual examiner.
- Teachers Diploma. Minimum required age is 20. This exam studies the syllabus from Pre Jazz to Grade 9 Jazz (all revised syllabi). It qualifies the candidates to teach the studied grades. The focus is on teaching skills, set work knowledge, theory of anatomy and music. It is an oral and physical examination which is set by each individual examiner.
